Here he is, the ultimate bae of Collar x Malice, the true canon route.

I’m happy to say that I frickin’ loved this route. Like, a lot.

The calm, cool and collected Yanagi.

He’s definitely my favorite of the game, no questions asked.
As always, more in depth review below the cut, because spoilers. Major, major spoilers. I will stick more to the aspects of Yanagi himself rather than specific game spoilers, as that will be gone in more depth in the full game review, thus many more spoilers there.
For previous Baes in Review, here’s the full list.

Let’s go, guys. Last warning before the cut. This will be spoiler territory for the rest of game. This is your final spoiler warning.

Oh, this boy... this boy...

Hoo boy...

The sass master himself, Takeru Sasazuka. He is rude, crude, and doesn’t care who knows it. He should be everything that I hate in a bae, and yet... I can’t possibly bring myself to hate him. Like, maybe a little, but not as much as I want to hate him.

This should be fun.

The progression of this route was definitely a tough one, as I had to restart it, three times actually. First because of not getting enough right answers in the Q & A segments, which lead to a bad end.

Second time was because I was a dumb dumb that forgot to save her progress, and had made it all the way in Chapter 6 previously, forgot to save, and had to restart all the way back in Chapter 2 (auto skip stopped working right around mid to late Chapter 3ish, so that was fun :'D).

Third time because the save file I loaded to progress was the one that lead to the bad end I got the first time, so I had to start over AGAIN in Chapter 1, and saved every chapter from that point forward.

Sasazuka was a pain in the ass, even in the real world while I was trying to play his route.

Let it be a lesson in always saving your progress, because you never know when you’ll have to start over again. And again. And AGAIN.

...Anyway, more in-depth analysis below, because spoilers, you all know the drill.

For Previous Baes in Review, here's the master list of all of my previous reviews, as well as quick summaries if that's more your thing. To be quite honest, I’m still kind of in shock from this route. Like, I’m still trying to piece together what the hell happened.

Shiraishi is one of those baes that's locked until you play at least one route (unlike Yanagi, whose locked until you finish with everyone else before moving onto his route), but, with the way things progressed, in my case, I think he may have been better off locked until you finish the other three available routes (kind of like in Nameless, where three routes have to be cleared until you can move until the next one, but isn't the final, final route option. As such, Shiraishi was my third route of Collar x Malice, Sasazuka being my last before Yanagi was unlocked, and... looking back, I kinda wish that order was reverse.

This is the last warning before we go into spoiler territory. I’m not giving anymore further warnings.

Spoilers below the cut!!

I based my ratings system off of JelloApocalypse's film reviews system. The system consists of whole numbers from 1 to 10, 1 being the worst and 10 being the best. My previous system on tumblr had some flaws, as I couldn't make decisive decisions about the route's overall rating, especially giving some scores with decimals and fractions, so it was kind of a big mess. With this new system, I hope to make more concrete decisions on what felt about the character and the route in general. Keep in mind that pretty much all of this is opinion-based and, though I try to be fair to everyone, there's undoubtedly gonna be some bias here and there. You might like a character I hate, and you might hate a character I like.

Just keep in mind that all of the ratings are subjective and might need to be taken with a grain of salt. Also, the images presented may give a more or less accurate representation of upcoming Bae in Review scores if they do not presently have one uploaded. Images may also be subject to change. Also note that just because I gave a character a certain rating, that doesn't mean the entire game experience is hinged on this one, solitary character's score. I could love the entire game, save for this one element, or I could hate the entire thing, with this character being it's only saving grace. These images are examples and, again, could be subject to change

This is my second route for Collar x Malice and, compared to my first route, this one was much more relaxed and laid back, something that I’m greatly appreciative of.

For my previous Bae in Review, check out my profile page for a complete list of all the games I've completed thus far.

Like I stated above, this was my second route for this game, and I do have to say that I found myself enjoying the game more this time. The route was a lot slower, not quite as much going on (still chocked full of things going on, but at a much more manageable pace).

I think it also helps that the bae for this route, Mineo Enomoto, also had this kind of easiness to him. He's got this naivete to him that makes him more endearing and approachable. It also helps that he's a complete dork in pretty much everything he does.

More in-depth thoughts below the cut, plus be wary of spoilers!

This guy... oh this guy...

He was a whirlwind from start to finish. A thrill ride that I seriously wasn't expecting, since this was my first route in Collar x Malice.

Those that follow me on twitter can attest to how much emotional turmoil this guy put me through, from when I started live-tweeting the game, to the end of his route, which I'm still scratching my head at.

For previous Baes in Review, check out my profile for a full list of games I have played, previously and currently. There, you can check out links to my previous reviews on tumblr, as well as links to current Bae in Reviews available on DW.

Remember, spoilers down below~

“Turn it up, turn it up! They’re gonna play his song!”

You couldn’t tell who was more excited to hear Kazuki on the radio, you or Mineo. Practically since the two met, Mineo had been a big supporter of Kazuki’s music.

Sitting by his side, you both eagerly awaited to hear the opening notes of Kazuki’s latest song. It was practically the only time Mineo lost his shyness and you could sit next to him without his stuttering and blushing.

“Almost there, Ichika. Almost time.”

You smiled, both of you going quiet and held hands as the opening notes started.
